If you aren't happy with a print for any reason, return it in salable condition, in its original packing, within 30 days of your receipt of the print in question, and I'll return your purchase price, minus the original shipping and handling fee.

Framing

Galleries are much better equipped to handle print presentation issues (matting, framing, lighting, etc.) than I can be. That's why I refer people to galleries when I can.

Presentation issues are important because the frame is the bridge between the art work and its environment. Using a minimalist metal frame in a Victorian room would probably detract from both the art work and the furnishings in the room, for example. These issues are best handled on the local level by a local gallery or frame shop who can work with you directly.

I recommend Jesse Goslen of Fine Art Framing for anyone who needs fine-art framing services.

Paper or Canvas

I can print most images on either paper or canvas. Paper has the advantages of being able to carry the most detail (it's smoother), and being a conventional material that can be shown in a conventional over matte and frame, under glass. It is ideal for smaller prints.

Canvas is a woven substrate that can be stretched over stretcher bars just like a conventional oil painting. I only print on archival canvas, whether it is 100% cotton or a cotton/polyester blend. Canvas prints are coated in a UV protective lacquer for presentation without glass. This protects the image from dust, dirt, and the occasional finger print.

Canvas is lightweight, making it easy to move and to hang. Since it doesn't require matting or framing, you can often get a bigger, more dramatic image on canvas for less money overall than you would a framed print on paper. With no glass separating you from the image, canvas provides a sense of immediacy and intimacy. The rougher texture of canvas tends to obscure the smallest details of the image, which is an advantage for larger prints

The largest print size (f) is available only on canvas.

Signed and Numbered Prints from Open Editions

Your image will be signed and dated, giving you a unique collectible work of fine art. All editions are open editions, meaning that there is no preset limit to the number of images that will be printed.

Lest anyone think that having too many prints on the market hurts resale price, I only point out that Ansel Adams made more than 100 16x20 sized prints of “Clearing Winter Storm” which are now selling for well in excess of $35,000 each. He made nearly 1000 copies of “Moonrise” in various sizes. His 16x20 sized Moonrise prints are his highest selling print in today's market.

Shipping and Handling

I normally ship by FedEx, but if you have a favorite shipper, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
